More felted wearable art in Feltissimo shop today.

It has been quite a while since I wrote anything on here and I do apologise.
There has been so many things happening. Firstly I was preparing all of the food for our large 25th wedding anniversary party. Ever since we have been married my husband has been the cook in our house. He has been a star as it has allowed me to get on with my Rag Rescue and Feltissimo business (Now called RR & F Textiles).
However just for once I wanted to prove to myself that I could still cook and I did achieve my aim. I produced all home baked food, a three course banquet for three days for over 20 people at our house. It was wonderful but I was exhausted afterwards.
Then we went on a well deserved holiday, but whilst there I started working embroidering every evening and have continued since.
Yesterday I started putting some handmade nuno felt brooches into my etsy shop, perhaps you would like to have a look. they are great for presents, birthday, Christmas etc and can be worn, placed on bags, used like patches on pockets etc.
Here is a quick look at the ones I put on yesterday. If you would like to see and read more details then please click the link at the top of this post.
I post worldwide and take on commissions.

Felt brooch, sparkling island. Ideal Christmas gift

Just put this lovely felt brooch into my

My inspiration for this pretty felt brooch was a sparkling island and the sea as the sun shone down on them.
I make all of my felt by hand layering wool fibres together and wet felting them so that the fibres become entangled creating a firm felt fabric. For this brooch, I have also added some silk fibres to give more texture. I machined around various areas of the island which has raised them up and added french knots in antique metallic silver thread. Running stitches in the same thread have been added to the sea.
Vintage fabric and pin on the reverse.

The felt brooch will be packaged securely in a box. I will then place the box in a plastic postage bag to keep dry.

ONLY £6.50 and ideal little Christmas present

Slowly beginning to add new brooches to my etsy site

I have been very busy over the Summer making lots of new items for my etsy page and a new website. Next week I'll be busy listing a whole selection of felted items from brooches, tags, hangers and larger art works.
Below is a lovely garden brooch which is now on my

pretty handmade felt brooch/pin made from three layers of merino wool fibres. Some of the areas are slightly raised and enhanced with machine stitching. Beautiful 1930's rococco ribbon flower embellishments have been added as well as hand embroidery using a variety of stitches with antique silk threads.

In order to make the brooch firm, a layer of Decovil 1 light iron on interfacing has been sandwiched between the pretty French vintage fabric back and the felted front. A secure pin has been sewn onto the back.

Measurements - approx. 8.5cms/3.34" deep x 8.5cms/3.34" wide at the widest points.

The brooch will be shipped in a cardboard box covered with a plastic bag to keep it dry.

An ideal gift item, that is if you can part with it.

Experience in shipping world wide.

Ideal to add to a jumper, cardigan, dress, blouse and looks great on a bag.

Felted wall hanging, no. 8 from the Florence collection.

You can see the 'Florence collection' on my etsy site -

This is an original felted miniature wall hanging of a lady who is able to transform herself, clothing and surroundings depending on how I see the felt developing after working. There will be 9 wall hangings in the 'Florence' collection.
This is 'Florence no. 8'.

She has a pretty vintage lace dress pink silk ribbon arms, plaited vintage embroidery thread hair and an embroidered hat.
Florence has been placed on a felted heart which was made by the wet felting method in shades of white, lilac and turquoise merino wool fibres with a silk addition.
The white background on which Florence is mounted has been made using white merino wool fibres which have been wet felted.
The reverse side has the addition of double sided bondaweb to adhere the felt to the pretty vintage French fabric. This makes the felt stronger and ideal for hanging.

A vintage brass ring has been sewn at the top for hanging on the wall. However if you prefer to frame it, this ring can easily be removed.
The heart measures approx. 10.5cms x 7.5cms ( 4.1" x 3") with the addition of a 3.5cms/1.4" tail.
The outer white background measures approx.16.5cms x 9cms ( 6.5" x 3.5" )

Why not have a look at the other miniature wall hangings in the 'Florence' collection.
All priced at £19.95
